We are now approaching the time of year when the wedding season slows down, we can catch our breath and then, inevitably between Christmas and New Year, Joyce and I find ourselves reminiscing about the great times we had this past year celebrating marriage with you and your families.
We wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of our hearts. Oh yes, we realize that so many of you come from various backgrounds of religious and non-religious thought but we claim this perspective from Dave Barry that allows us to do our thing this time of year:
“In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it ‘Christmas’ and went to church; the Jews called it ‘Hanukkah’ and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukkah!’ or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!'”
– Dave Barry, Christmas Shopping: A Survivor’s Guide
Whatever your perspective, we do want to thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your significant lives this past year. And, we want to wish for you a great season of celebration!
Our hope is that 2012 will be a year of excitement, fun and a time to build some great memories.
